Volunteers needed for Meals on Wheels shelf-stable meal delivery
Macomb Community Action’s Office of Senior Services is seeking volunteers to help with a special delivery for the Meals on Wheels program on Saturday, September 8, 2018. This one time delivery opportunity will provide seniors in need with shelf-stable meals for times when unsafe weather or other emergency circumstances prevent the normal delivery of hot meals in Macomb County.
Michigan Works! employer training funds available
The Macomb/St. Clair Workforce Development Board will host an informational session for Michigan employers on the 2019 Going PRO Talent Fund (GPTF), formerly known as the Skilled Trades Training Fund (STTF). The GPTF is a state-funded program that offers funding for employee training.
Macomb County Michigan State University Extension offers Master Gardener Training
Macomb County MSU Extension is offering a Master Gardener Volunteer Program to Macomb County residents. This 14-week training provides an in-depth education in many aspects of horticulture, including trees and shrubs, flowers, fruits, vegetables, soil, water, pests, indoor plants, lawns and more. After completing 40 hours of volunteer community service, participants earn their Extension Master Gardener Certification, a widely recognized designation.

Macomb County’s MSU Extension office is seeking an AmeriCorps service member to serve a oneyear
assignment beginning September 2018 as a 4-H SPIN (special interest) club coordinator. The
club coordinator will be responsible for delivering SPIN club programming to area schools and/or
community partners. Tasks will include:
