HEPATITIS A OUTBREAK IN SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN
Macomb County, as well as other southeast Michigan communities, are experiencing an outbreak of hepatitis A infections. Since August 2016, over 180 hepatitis A cases have been reported in the county, and nearly 600 cases in southeast Michigan (as of December 15, 2017). Macomb County typically sees about six cases a year.
Hearing and Vision Program
The Hearing and Vision Program provides FREE hearing and vision screenings, referrals and follow-up for children in preschool through high school, ages 3-18 years.
This program is made up of 16 technicians, two clerical staff and a program manager. All technicians are comprehensively trained by Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) for both hearing and vision.
