Meningococcal Disease

Meningococcal Disease is a severe bacterial infection. Anyone can get it, but infants, children, adolescents, and college students are at increased risk of disease if exposed. Symptoms include: high fever, headache, stiff neck, vomiting, and rash. It can be prevented by vaccination, but exposed persons should take preventive treatment immediately if prescribed by a doctor.
