Community Corrections provides the courts in Macomb County with several alternatives to incarceration. We recognize that many individuals who are incarcerated have a history of drug or alcohol abuse and mental health concerns and that providing treatment in lieu of jail time improves their outcomes as well as public safety.
Appointed by the County Executive, the Macomb County Community Corrections Advisory Board (CCAB) is responsible for planning and policy-making with regards to the community corrections funding received from the Michigan Office of Community Alternatives/Community Corrections.
Community Corrections receives State funding through the Michigan Department of Corrections-Office of Community Corrections, local County funds, and grants awards through the Bureau of Justice Assistance to provide programming.
