What you need to know for Election Day
Vote Nov. 4
Polls open 7 a.m. – 8 p.m.
By the Macomb County Clerk
Voters across the State of Michigan and right here in Macomb County will make their voices heard on Nov. 4. A great deal of attention has been focused on the U.S. Senate and gubernatorial election, but many other important decisions are going to be made locally on that day too.
On the partisan section of the ballot, voters will select a new United States senator, members of congress, state senators, state representatives and county executive, along with the 13 members of the Macomb County Board of Commissioners.
Education slots will be filled for the State Board of Education and the governing boards of the University of Michigan, Michigan State University and Wayne State University. Additionally, voters will chose trustees for Macomb Community College and school board members for all 21 Macomb County school districts.
On the nonpartisan section of the ballot, voters will choose Supreme Court justices and appellate, circuit, probate and district court judges and village officials in the villages of Armada, New Haven and Romeo.
Moreover, this year there are two statewide ballot proposals, and the voters will be asked if they wish to embark on a general charter revision in Macomb County. In addition, there are local proposals on the ballot in the cities of Fraser, Memphis, St. Clair Shores and the townships of Armada, Harrison and Washington. Voters in the Almont, Chippewa Valley, Fraser, Lake Shore, Romeo, Utica and Warren Woods school districts will be asked to weigh in on school proposals as well.
